Often there is a time at a party when the energy settles down, people relax, conversations get deeper, and quiet moments appear that remain fondly in the memory. The image for this painting was at Headlands Center for the Arts\’ Mystery Ball, where most attendees were in costume, and coats accumulated on the benches at the periphery of the room. Something classical about this young woman\’s reclining pose drew a photographer or two! The colors are warm and her mood is dreamy and content.
