It was late in the afternoon and the storm came up and dumped a ton of water on the El Ray Motel, then receded as fast as it came. I like how the afternoon light played on the windows. Made them look as if they were waiting for something. Night? Another cloud burst? The El Ray has been waiting for you right on the highway for decades, that is, if you\’re willing to give up the Interstate for a while.
